Alright guys, I was driving home, car ****** out of first, and I mean ****** (it's done this before), and then it wouldn't get out of 2nd gear. It took me an hour to get home, I live 15 minutes from school. Anyone know what is wrong with my tranny. How hard would pulling the transmission be for someone somewhat mechanically inclined...but this kid's father owns a semi trucking business and the mechanic would help him most definitely....thanks for your help, if anyone replies that is

Nick, you can check out how to do stuff like this at Sho Nut Performance. They sell "how to" videos for clutch job and tranny rebuild (seperate tapes). I have the 60k service video and it is excellent. The best DIY tools available. Write ups are nice but to actually see it done with verbal instruction really helps.

My tranny did the same thing, it stayed in second gear... Smell the fluid on the dip stick, if it smells burnt, your trannys gone! I am waiting until spring to do mine. My tranny also slipped while it was in 2nd, i would push on the gas, as the rpms rose, I wouldnt gain much speed. top I got up to 45-50.
