I just completed my 60k along with valve cover seals and spark plugwell seals and I must say, this thing boogies! One little problem though.... When I push the clutch down I hear scrapeing and sounds of sand paper, it is also hard to put in gear. When I pump the clutch a couple of times, it goes into gear like a brand new car (almost), but I still hear the sandpaper sound. The clutch holds fine with no slippage. Can I just be in need of a tranny fluid change?

sounds like a clutch issue of some sort.
it can't hurt to change the fluid though,i like to use Mobil 1 ATF.

I got Castrol dex merc atf should that be good?

MERCON ATF is good. The blocking rings in my MTX did not like Mobil 1 ATF. I use the Valvoline Max Life MERCON with good shifting action even after all these miles.

Now is the perfect time for the drain plug installed.

I do believe, that your throw out bearing is chewing its way into your pressure plate finger's. I bet you will need a new clutch soon.
