Hey guys, Im selling my SHO and of course the week I put it up for sale something breaks. There is a decent leak from in front of the drivers side wheel above the frame rail. Its leaking from one of two lines that go from the tranny into the radiator. I called Ford about it and was told that the upper line was not made anymore while the lower line is still available(Ford sucking as usual since my upper line is leaking). If anyone has changed these lines, how hard was it and how long did it take? Thanks

Just remove the hard lines altogether. Add a Gen II tranny cooler, transmission cooler line, brass barbs, and your set.

I found that I had a leak in the same area and it was a soft line. The lower edge of the inner fender sliced the rubber when I had the car in for service and the car was raised via the subframe. The slice was so nice and clean that I simply finished it off with a knife and then used a brass mender fitting (barbed on both ends) with dual hose clamps on each barb.
YMMV

mine is corroded on the hard portion of the line i believe, but I have yet to get under there to really look good at whats up with it.

As for replacing them with a cooler and all that crap, I don't like anyone that I would be selling the car to that much. I haven't been able to sell it and it's been up for 3 weeks, adding the tranny cooler isn't gonna change anything but my account balance in a negative way haha

okay so that was an easier fix than I would have thought. Ford's recommended fix was to totally replace the lines with rubber tubing so i took care of that in about a half an hour today and I'll take care of the tranny flush later on if I end up keeping the car. I now need a neutral safety switch though.

We offer a Gen III cooler Kit. It includes all the lines, fittings, cooler and hardware to completely replace the factory cooler and lines. It also comes with a thermal bypass valve for quick warm ups in cold weather. The instructions are clear and include nice pictures to show you how to install our cooler system.

The cooler kit sells for $159, plus shipping.
