I'm having some trouble with my TPS sensor, it wont work. I've been through three of them, and its not the problem. I checked the voltage on it and it went from .4 volts at closed throttle, to 0 volts at wide open throttle, and this cannot be right. Now is there something specific that goes wrong on these cars, or should i just be looking for the messed up part on the wiring harness? thanks, this is really getting me angry cuss

First, unplug the connector from the sensor. Measure voltage at the two outer wires with the ignitions switch in RUN but with the engine off. You should measure ground on one and approx 5 VDC on the other. Measure the voltage at the center wire. Post your results.

Turn ignition off. Measure resitance between the two outer pins of the TPS. The switch on lead to the center pin. As you rotate the throttle plate, you should see the reading either increase from near zero to near the first read value, or vice versa (from near max to zero.) If the sensor responds as described, it is okay.

You really should evaluate changing your login name in order to prevent biased responses. You are inviting bad attitudes. Is that really what you want? I hope not.

Am I inviting bad attitudes? Let's leave it up to a vote, lemme know if you think my log in name sucks or is asking for biased responses, and maybe I'll change it. I dont see what the big deal is with a name anyways, as long as its not vulgar or just disgusting, it shouldnt matter, should it?
