Hi,

I tried to do the TPMS relearn after putting on the summer tires. I tried many ways to activate the process, none works. Before it's been the garage doing it. I bought the tool from Ford to do it. But I can't just start the process.

Here is what I tried, following few receipes I found on various sites.

-Same as a key ignition process(my 2010 SHO is a push button). Brake on, then push button, without pressing brake, on&off 3 times, then brake again, then on&off 3 times again. Doesn't activate the 2beeps signal. This set-up works fine on my 2010 Fusion, though.

-Brake, then push button on (without brake) then I press hazard button 5 time. That doesn't activate the 2beeps signal. I tried the same with pressing 6 times the hazard, same thing. I tried also without pressing breake first, and push button on, then 5 or 6 hazard, NO again. I tried also all that but without touching push button on before, same NO.

Why is this so complex???? Is it me. What a methodology, what have they invented there!!! I'm quite frustrated.

I saw a video (you-tube) but with a later SHO that has a key, no help there since this is the same set-up as my Fusion.

Someone knows the real receipe. Please, HELP.

Here is the procedure written by another member: But one caution with the push button, you have to hold the button for more than one second to "cycle" the key to on each time....if you only touch it, the key is actually accessory and not "on"

TPMS RESET PROCEEDURE.
With car turned off but key in the ignition you press brake firmly. Then cycle ignition on and off 3 times (all the way without starting car) and end in run (on) position.

Press brake pedal firmly for 3 seconds and then release.

Now turn the ignition off with key still in ignition.

Now turn the ignition on and off 3 more times, ending in Run (on).

If the reset has been entered (trained) successfully, the horn will sound once. The TPMS indicator will flash, and the message center will display Train LF Tire.

Mine has always (several times) honked after doing exactly the above. However if your's still doesn't after doing this exactly as listed (try a few times), you need to see your dealer.

When you "train" each wheel. You position your training tool against the tire (arrow pointing at tire) 180 deg. around from valve stem. When each tire is trained, the horn will honk once. When you hear the horn, go to the next tire (clockwise), get another single honk, and when you finish all 4, you are almost done if last tire honks once.

It can take up to 10 seconds to train a tire when You are continuously pushing the training tool button. Don't release it until you hear a beep. If you get no beep or a double beep, you have to start over.

Once the 4th tire has honked the horn. Turn the ignition off. If no horn beeps, you are successful. If you get 2 beeps, you have to go thru all steps again. If ultimately unsuccssful, contact your dealer.

I have a couple of questions about this procedure. The first step says to press the brake pedal firmly. Then what? Release it before starting the on/off procedure? If the brake is held down during the 1st 3 off/on cycles, then is it released after 3 seconds from the final part 1 on cycle? Or released and pressed again for 3 seconds? Is the brake pedal depressed during the second set of cycles? It's not clear from the step above then the brake pedals is pressed and when it is released.

gtcs1: I think you were doing what I was doing wrong... when you press the button, hold the button (Start/Stop) for a couple seconds. When you just press it, it doesn't go into the same mode that its looking for. Try and that and report back - I'm sure you'll get your beeps following the brake on and brake off process.
