Sumitomos are down to $78. Know that I live in Wisconsin, the yokohamas are out of the picture So its down to the Sumitomo HTR+'sfor $78 or the Continental ContiExtremeContact's for $82.

Yoko es 100's were only like $80 when I ordered (225/55/16) and they are awesome thumb I'm very pleased with both their wet and dry handling.

I bought Yokohama AVSdb 225 60's and am happy with them, super grip, no hydroplaning, super quiet, good wear.

I was kicking around the idea of the Continentals or Yokohama ES100's myself. I have/had yokohama's on my SLO and I loved them, but the ratings/treadwear on those Continentals is very very appealing.

Hey guys, I think it's about time I chimed in here. I was in the same boat not too long ago. After about a month or two of researching I decided to go with the Continental Conti-Extreme Contacts. So far I love them. They look great, quiet, and suppose to have very good grip. That is something I really haven't tried out too much yet. I did gun it around a turn in the rain and didn't even spin out so I'm pretty sure they will do great off the line. They are V rated(149) and have a 400 treadwear rating. Also, keep this in mind, they come with a 30 day ride guarantee. So if you really hate they way they feel, which you probably won't, you could still return them. Well, hope this helps, let us know which one you get and how you like it.

they certainly do. ****, they are rated better in every category than the Potenza RE730 exept for one, where they are tied. Not bad for 40 bucks less per tire, and the ability to be used in the snow.

And to chuck, thanks, it did help out. :)

I've had the ContExtreams on my Gen III now for two months. I love them. An all around, great performing tire, and you can't beat the price. I wish the Dunlop D40s on my '93 performed as well.

If you try to get 225/50-16 you will not be able to order them from the rack if they know you will put them on the SHO. Find another car where that size is stock and you will be fine. Stupid Ford/Firestone/SUV/uppies rant

WELL ALLLRIGHT!
I Was about to do a search on tires since I was looking to get a setand could find a decent set of all year round 225/55/16 Looks like I will be ordering the Continentals .Whats funny is that I searched tirerack and just decided to skip the Conts -..-I didn't think they were any good --but they look to be what I'm looking for. I have tokico and ebach parts waitng to be installed after I get these tires....

I've had the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS - 225/55WR16 (400 treadwear AA A) on my slicers for 9 months now. Minimal wear, fantastic in both dry and wet and excellent grip. Plus the price on Tirerack went from $104/ea to $98/ea since last Sept. Excellent all-season tire for the SHO!
