Guys, Need new Tires ASAP. I got 3 tires in mind, Tell me what you feel are the best.

First is the NITTO NT-450 Extreme performance Tires, 215/55/16. Good tires, Had them on the Silver 92, Did fantastic.

Second:Yokohama AVS ES100, 225/55/16's. Have never had a yokohama product, but I hear they work wonderfully. Also, Is 225 a Safe width to run on a Slicer?

Third : Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 225/50/16, Also, Never had any experience with khumo's, But have heard good things.

The only reason I put this thread in this section was for traffic, and I need to order these tires by tonight, Your input is appreciated!

the Kumhos are junk, the Yokos are sticky but wont last you more than 10K miles. no experience with the Nitto, though i nearly bought them.

I'd go for the Nitto's or the Yoko's, I've heard negative things about the Kumhos, but not the othe two.

half-way there, I think.
I have a set of AVS ES100 on the Outlaw, love the grip, but they are wearing quickly... but that might have more to do with my heavy foot and 9psi of boost. I also have a set of Nitto 555 extremes on another set of rims, I like those tires a lot, good traction, but they get greasy if pushed hard. Not sure how the 555's compare to to the 450's, but I would buy them again.

i had 450 nittos on my CSVT when i first got it, they were ok for a cheap tire (around $50 apiece the previous owner said). i had some kumho's on my old stang and they burned up quick, i would go with the yoko's.

225 will work ok with slicers. I had 225/50's on my slicers for many years. I have had both the yoko's and kumho's. IMHO the yokohamas are much better. Great turnin and sticks well. I have 10K on mine now and I believe I will get the typical 25K out of the tires. Rotate the tires frequently and keep a good alignment.

I currently have the Nitto 450's on my 911. Quite honestly, I think they're one of the WORST "performance" tires out there.

712's - very sticky tire, quiet, wears quickly
ES100's - best choice IMO on the 3 you mentioned.

Personal advice: Toyo Proxes T1-S (or the newer T1-R w/ better rain channeling), or my new fave, Kumho MX. As always, I recommend a 3-season tire w/ Blizzaks on a spare set of slicers / similar for winter only use.

They'll look like training wheels.

225/45-16 = 23.97" diameter
215/60-16 = 26.15" diameter

Want an additional 1.5" of fender gap? I didn't think so.

Try 225/55-16 instead of 45 series, it's much closer & works well.

Kumho= ok tire, if you can find them cheap....
nitto= overall good tire
yoko= overall ok tire....

your choice....
for something thats gonna last, or something to burn up through for awhile....
IMO the nitto will last the longer of the 3.

but i would still stick with what i got... i like them alot...
maybe a different tire from yoko would be better..... ??

its your choice though....

Unless your slamming that car to the ground I suggest you dont go with 45's.

This was my red 94 with brand new Proxes. 215-55-16's. I wanted to go 225, but they were like 25$ more each. And the gap in the wheel wells killed me.

I would take the advice. My suggestion would be 225-50/55-16's. Look into the Yokohama Avids. Wont last too long, but they are awsome all around tires.

Im just curious why you say the nitto's are superior to Yokohamas. I think the Yokohamas are some of the best street tires out there. I had some Paradas, and they were awsome on DRY pavement.

Avon Tech M500, Fuzion ZRi, GoodYear Eagle F1 GS-D3, Kumho MX, or Yoko AVS ES100.

The Kumho 712 and Nitto Nt-450 are both dated tires IMO and you can get a better tire for the same money.

225/50/16 or 225/55/16.

Dude, 225/55/16 is the only tire Id go for on a slicer, unless you plan on tracking it a lot then 225/50 but then your speedo will prob. be a bit off. I love every set of 225/55's Ive ever bought.

I liked using 225/50-16. The slightly shorter tire help the car accelerate slightly better because the overall final drive ratio is a little shorter. 225/45 is very short and you will have some tire gap.

I think 225/50 even has to much gap even with eibachs. On the other hand its probably a lighter tire and decreases rotating mass. Ive always had 225/55's and I love em'. Avon's are what I am running now but my next set will probably be p-zero nero's which are soemthing like 6 lbs lighter per tire than the avon's.
