255/45r20s fit fine up front without rub on stock rims stock ride height. Past 255 and its too much overhang on stock rims. Convert that to 19s somehow.
Got that info from this forum, search button is up there. Every week its the same threads. What brakes, what tires? There's a search button and 80 threads about each
Come on now! How do you think I have so many posts?
Yea i know, I had to let off steam last night and did it in the wrong place.
Ok, I need new tires. I'm not racing the car, or doing any insane handling tasks. Back in the day I had 295 50r15's on 15x7 explorer wheels on my BRONCO II. I drove it in this configuration for years, and never had a single issue... Mind you I was in my 20's and took corners with reckless abandon. Again, not a single problem.255/45r20s fit fine up front without rub on stock rims stock ride height. Past 255 and its too much overhang on stock rims. Convert that to 19s somehow.

Definitely stock ride height/wheels. Everyone always asks, or starts threads about 275's on stock wheels (use the search function newb...), but no one ever does it because "tirefitologists" always chime in and state that you will die if you do it... We all know it can be done, yet the fear mongering gets the best of most members. Case in point, I put 295's on 7in wheels, on arguably one of the most dangerous rollover risk vehicles of all time. However, the guys that stretch 225's on 10in wheels get criticized for being "dangerous", but they do it anyway?!I aint no tirefitologist but its best to find a trusted tire shop to do their thing and tell you what your max sizes are especially if your lowered. Or see what some people on here got away with running. Again harder to get info if your lowered. Not sure if you are just putting it out there.
Nevermind i see your at stock ride height now. I dont recommend lowering with h and rs. Its looks awesome but feels horrible on rough roads and in towns/citys. Highway your fine

My thoughts are that the pinch will cause them to be possibly taller, but I don't think they are going to peal off the wheels if I hit an on ramp somewhat aggressively.
Thoughts?

Agreed, but like I said, in most cases they're cheaper (at least last I looked). 99% of my driving is in the city or highway. I just want to know if they'll fit without issues. When you had those tires on the Bronco, with the 45 degree sidewalls on the skinny wheels, that vehicle didn't have anything resembling "handling", not by any current standards. But, those Broncos were never set up for handling.
Modern SHOs are. To optimize your suspension, as well as steering and brake responses, keep tire widths to proper wheel widths.
Sure, you can put a 275 on a 7"-8" wheel, but why? The ride will be mushy, tire wear will be weird unless you watch pressures, and steering/cornering responses go to ****.
For looks? On cars that are as big as a bus, an extra 3/4-1" of tire width is hardly noticeable.
