How many miles are you getting out of a set? I just replaced a set of BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2s with Continental Extreme Contacts. Digging through my paperwork I just realized the BFs only made it 23k miles before wearing out. I'm going to contact Discount Tire and see if I have any warranty left, but I doubt they will do anything since the tires were 4 years old.

Liking the Continentals so far, btw.

Hahah I just had a conversation on FB with a guy that went through a pair of DWS 06's in 20k miles. I was dumbfounded because I live in a hotter climate, my car makes almost 80 lbs more tq to the tire, and my tires are fine through 30k minus the one I got replaced. My Focus ST has DWS 06's and they are showing signs of being worn out at 40k.

So I called Discount Tire. I explained that I just had the tires replaced about 2 hours ago and noticed that the ones they replaced only had 23k miles on them. The warranty was for 45k miles, did it apply? For some reason, they had the wrong phone number on the original order and that was why they didn't notice anything.

So the guy says, seriously, "sure, sir. Just come in and let me take a look at the tires to figure out why they wore out and I'll see what we can do." Hello! You have the tires, you goon, you just replaced them 2 hours ago.

He's supposed to call me back. LOL!

If you look online, they will price match. I buy from Discount Tire and have them price match Simple Tire.

It's also pretty eye-opening how much prices have increased in 4 years. Works out to about $100 per tire.

Yeah, it was $1200 to put tires on my Focus with mounting, balancing, and the tire certificates. Worth it though.

I see what you guys like about the Continentals. They are considerably quieter than the BGFs. They don't look as cool, though.

Same here. I cross the border and get them at Fort Gratiot - Michigan.
Years ago they gave me a pro-rated credit on some tires that wore out before the thread wear warranty was done.
Recently got a set of Toyo's for the SHO at this same place.

I just threw the COMP2's on my SHO last month, but with gas the way it is I haven't driven it. been on my motorcycle cant beat 50 MPG with gas still at $5 a gallon for 91 in Denver

I got like 17000 miles out of my tires like that. A guy I trust as a service advisor said it was better to buy a softer tread more tuan a firmer one

I get 60000+ out of the mich brand.
