Here's my problem, I'm getting a vibration from my new wheels (Enkei RS6). I got the hubcentric rings so I think my tires are not balanced correctly.

Before the hubrings I get the vibration from about 80-90mph, now after I got them it vibrates less, but sometimes from 60mph+. It sometimes goes away from time to time, but it still shakes.

I went back twice to try to sort them out but it still shakes, the wheels are brand new so I doubt it's them.

Is there a specific way to balance aftermarket wheels? They glued square metal weights on the inner lip of the wheel the first time, the second time they glued them to the middle.

I'm going back on monday, anything I should ask them? Any more ideas?

Thanks

Kris

where did you go to get them?

if they properly set up the balance machine, they shouldnt have any problums balancing your rims with tape-a-weights. they shouldnt have tape a weights in the middle of the rim, they should either have them on the outside and inside, or they should have them right close to the spokes and then have normal weights on the inside of the rim.

if you want, you could ask to watch them put the weights on. on most machines, when setting them up like this:

Tape a weight inside/outside:

they will mount the tire/wheel up to the balance machine, either hit a few buttons or turn a dial to go to set tape a weights. then use a rod thing that comes out of hte side of the machine to touch the inside of the rim in both places, inside and out, where the tape-a-weights will be placed. make sure as well that they have 7 inch rim selected (what i think all those enkei's are).

tape a weight near spokes/regular outside:

they should mount it in the same way, only this time use the rod on the machine to touch the edge of the rim where the normal weights go, and then again on the inside near the spokes where the tape a weights will go. again make sure they select 7 inch rim.

when finished each side should be within .25 ounces, and if some got zeroed out and some .25s have them put the zeroed out ones in the front.

OH you didn't know
To do a proper tire balance, they should zero out ALL the wheels/tires. .25 ounce will give a vibration around 60mph still. Two sets of tape weights should be done on this wheel: one set on the inside lip towards the back of the wheel, and one set on the barrell closest to the spoke.
