I know the easiest way to change timing chain is to lift the body off of the engine. I’ve heard some can do it by squeezing in with the engine in place. I simply can’t comprehend getting the timing chain cover back on and properly torqued into such a small space without screwing up the silicone gasket and a variety of other problems. What do you think about removing the passenger fender/wheel/wheel well/etc. to provide more access to the timing cover and components? I know there is a frame rail of sorts that probably connects to the front bumper reinforcement bar, and that is not removable. Do you guys think it would be worth the time to dismantle for extra room/access? Thanks,

No.

Do it in chassis or pull the motor. The work to pull the structure in the right fender unless your a good body man/welder is not worth your time.

If you are careful there is enough room.to do it in chassis. Just dont use a thick air ratchet and get is stuck on loosey tight against the fender with no way to turn it to tighty.

I've done it twice in chassis, it's really not that bad, yes I got some silicone on one of the VCT solenoid bodies, but it wiped right off, and I haven't noticed any front cover leaks.
