I'm replacing my noisy rear timing chain tensioner soon, should I replace the timing chain also?

It depends on how much slack there is, but typically, you may as well; if the chain's stretched at all, you're going to continue to hear the "slap". A new chain is about $50.

Thats what I was thinking, since I will have it off I might as well replace it. The engin has around 175k on it so it wont hurt. Are the front and rear chains the same?
