Could someone please tell me the proper torque the timing belt tensioner should be set to? The manual I have says to set clockwise to 4.5 inch pounds. This seems to be very loose. Should I turn the hex bolt clockwise or counter clockwise? Also, what is the distance the crank position sensor should be set to in relation to the crank pick up? Thnaks for any help provided

Do you have a 3.0L or 3.2L engine? The gas piston tensioner applies all the tension to the belt on the 3.2L after any setting you dial in anyway. The 3.0L's tension is set per the last post in the topic below. You should also read the procedure from the AutoZone site below.

The CPS should be gapped .03" from the shutters on the pulley.
