doing a full 60K on my 89 SHO I am having a problem with the timing marks on the two camshaft sprockets/timing belt and the reference marks. They all line up fine until I tighten the tensioner, the tensioner causes the two camshafts to 'back up' when the belt is tighten and the two stationary marks do not line up with the belt and cam sprocket anymore. Is this OK?

Yep, just as it should be. Line up the marks, then tighten it...the marks are now off a couple teeth.

Hi, this is one of the great places to have a SHO, good two lane roads, and not much traffic, except motorcycles. I used the info from the SHO Phoenix Project to do the 60K, ehat a great resource. Thanks again for the replies!
