how much does the timing belt and valve adjustment cost for parts and labor assuming $60/hr Ford mechanic?

The timing belt books at just over 3 hrs around 3.5 I think and the belt from the dealer is over $100. I have seen posts from people who paid between $1000-2000 for the 60k service. I would try to do it myself. There is a how to video, good documentation on shotimes.com and good support here.
