I just wanted to drop in and say hi! Thought it was time to update the profile pic as well. So I still lurk here, even tho I haven't owned an SHO for a few years now. It is interesting to read the stories of triumph and tragedy, of hope, joy and despair as you guys live with and love your cars. Know that I am still here in spirit.

In January 2017 I traded off the SHO for a 2015 MKS, 3.7L, AWD, w/ 19K miles on it. Pristine. 2 weeks later the engine in the SHO blew up. Dealer tells me the water pump went. Man am I glad I didn't have to pay that bill! They put a new engine in the car under warranty for the person that bought it. Lasted 3 days on the used car lot.

So the Lincoln was nice, but it was not giving me the warm fuzzies when it came to reliability. The PTU went at 45K miles, and I had a experienced a few other issues besides. So I was nearing 100K on it when I decided to visit my local Honda dealer and look at CR-V's. But that is not what I bought.

Which is the Honda Accord you see in the profile pic! I am loving this car. If you have owned an Accord you can probably relate. It is my first Honda, and I am still in love. It is a 2018 Touring, bought it new in June of 2019 for a great price. It was time to go, they wanted it off of the lot and I got a deal.

It is a sweet ride, and my average MPG is over 34 MPG. It has the 1.5L turbo, which is good for 192 HP and 192 lb. ft. of torque. I log a lot of miles, and when gas goes up it is a pain in the pocketbook.

Ya'll drive careful now, shiny side up!

Nice update and nice knowing you're doing well.

Nice to see another sedan purchaser amongst us.

Recently got the wife a new 2020 Hyundai Sonata Limited w/the single turbo 1.6L in it.

Completely loaded and she loves it.

Continued luck with your Honda moving forward.

Thank you! Your Hyundai sounds like a nice ride too. My Accord is loaded as well, though it doesn't do the parking spot party trick, but it is a blast to drive. Reminds of an A4 I had a few years ago.

Had a friend go from a 5.7 300c hemi to a low mileage new Malibu. He could attest to the "pain in the pocketbook" of what you describe. Luckily he sold the 300 before Chrysler quality control kicked in on that car :laughcry:. Congrats on the ride!

Thank you Alex! Growing up with gasoline at $0.40 a gallon when I was a kid, I have hard time paying $2.00 a gallon, let alone even more ! And if gas goes higher I will love that little 4 banger even more.

You know, truth is I love that sound of a 4 cylinder engine. I've had 4) 4-cylinder engines, 3 of them turbocharged, and I liked every one of them.

Had a '86 Dodge 600 2.2L, '79 Plymouth Horizon 1.8L VW powertrain, '06 Audi A4 2.0L and the '18 Accord with the 1.5L.

Hope your friend is enjoying the Malibu, they look pretty sharp these days. Gotta say I am not a fan of the 300 in its current form, though I did like that car when they brought it out around 2000. The Taurus is a pretty solid car, but I had my share of issues with both the Taurus and the Lincoln MKS.

But I still hang out here, it is fun just to watch and listen, there's good people here. Have a great day!

Sounds like you dodged the bullet on the SHO! My daily car is a 97 accord that just turned 180K miles. Rides great and every single option still works on it, other than driver side paint it could pass as a 5-10 year old car. It's amazing how well they hold up in every way.
