I just bought a set of thunderbird cobra R's and I'll post pics when I get them on. It may be a while though.........gotta get the cash for new tires....will these rims go on with no spacers? Are they the same offset as SHO rims?

i believe they're a different offset (can't remember what it is, but google can tell you), but do not need spacers

Yeah, they are the SVT- i posted those since they are a direct fit with no problems at all and they look pretty much the same anyways.
I figure if the Tbird cobra Rs are 9in wide like the real cobra Rs, then theres going to be fitment issues with the SHO. And since the Tbird is RWD, i would think that the offset is a bit different.

you can sign up and upload them to a place like www.photobucket.com and then copy/paste the link that they give you under the uploaded pic. once you've done it the first time, its quite simple, although if you're super computer illiterate, it may take a few minutes to figure it out.

Check this link out:

http://www.thefordsource.com/store/motorsports/wheels.htm

or eBay has a seller right now ...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...&item=2467663003&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT

The Ford part number for the SVT T-Bird 17X7 wheel is M-1007-E177.
Offset is 39mm / 5.57" backspacing. The hub is the proper size and the wheel is a direct bolt on for the Taurus SHO.
Do not get confused with the clone 17X9 Cobra R wheel that some owners have. That 17X9 wheel has a 36mm offset and will stick out of the wheel wells.

Where did you buy these wheels(17x9.5 wide for the SHO) and what was the cost of the wheels? I have a Gen 3 with chrome Cobra R replicas (17x7.5) made by Superior Ind. I hit a brick and busted one wheel beyond repair and now i'm stuck with three wheels that I cannot use. And I certainly can't find a chrome replacement for the busted wheel. Superior no longer sell these wheels. Please advise on location of purchase, price and how did you manage to get a 9.5 width wheel on the SHO. Tire size????????? Thanks!

DO you know the offset of your wheels and if they would bolt onto a '93 without any issue? I have tracked down a set of 4 chrome Superior Scoundrel Cobra R's and the seller thinks they're 35 or 36mm offset. How bad is your wheel? I've seen some nasty wheels get fixed when you's swear they were garbage. Mike

They are a +39 offset. And yes they will fit any gen Sho. I have sent pictures to several wheel repair shop on the internet (Wheel America etc.) and they have responed with a resounding no that it cannot be fixed. The brick took out about a 1"x5" piece of metal right by the spoke of the wheel. They stated that since it was by the spoke which is weight bearing, it cannot be fixed. The pictures are on the computer at work so therefore I cannot send them until Monday for your viewing. How much does that seller wants for their wheels? The problem is that I only need one or possibly two. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!
