Morning Guys, I'm new here but wanted to ask a few questions. I am thinking of getting a new SHO for a daily driver. I currently have a Focus ST with an tune and some other stuff. My wife has a ecoboost flex with an unleashed 3 BAR tune, and I have a 01 Bullitt Mustang with a stroker motor and a 76mm turbo. I love the ST but I want a bigger car with more power. I was looking at a CTS-V or a charger, but I hate everything other than Ford. My question for you is if I order a SHO is the performance package worth it? What mods would be first to do?
Thanks in advance

Welcome! The PP option is well worth it especially if you are buying a 2013+. It makes the PTU a little harder to get at for fluid R&R, but other than that, you gain better cooling, better suspension, better brakes, and taller gearing. If you buy a 2010-12, you can go with a non-PP SHO, and upgrade with 2013 PP components for cooling & brakes, really ups the game of the 2010-12. Tunes will pretty much negate speed-related performance between PP/non-PP, so wouldn't worry about that.

Mods-wise, same basic list: tune, 3 bar MAP, cooler TStat - most bang for yer buck mods. Add downpipes, methanol injection, bigger turbos for more power via hardware upgrades. CAI & catback need downpipes in place first to perform at a noticeable level.

Maintenance can make/break: all fluids (trans, ptu, rdu, engine oil, brakes, coolant, ...), hoses & clamps, PCV system/intercooler check, ...

Make sure all recalls are completed before you take delivery. Get familiar with the TSBs for known issues & solutions.

It would be either a 2015 or 2016, I work for a Ford dealer as a Commercial Service Advisor, so fluids and TSBs, recalls are easy to handle.

I went through the same challenge trying to figure out what car to get. I wanted a sedan with power and preferably AWD for the winters. I am coming from a Maserati Ghibli SQ4 and the SHO was the one of two cars in this price range (golf r was other option) that checked all of those boxes. I am almost one month into ownership and I absolutely love the car. While it may not look or sound like the Maserati, the car drives great and has minimal turbo lag unlike the Maserati.

I bought a '15 and received an incredible deal that I could not pass up. So far so good and looking to start adding some mods.

I ordered a Livernois tune, 3 Bar Map Sensor and 160 degree thermostat (seems to be the common recommendation). Planning to install the sensor and thermostat this weekend and waiting to receive tune from Livernois.

When I switched the wifes Flex to the 3 BAR tune it was night and day difference. It looks like you have the magnetic color xduxjc, is that right? I was looking at that color, the guard, or black. The Flex is guard with the black roof and titanium appearance package.

Yes I have the magnetic color. I like the color a lot, will like it more once I get rid of the chrome.
