If you want a blown up tranny I will sell you one cheaper than you can buy a phantom grip, it will save you a little money.

PG seems to work in some other cars but not ours , the trans will explode with that.

If you want to know more, I guess you could search in the forums here "phantom grip"

Putting a Phantom Grip in your MTX is somewhat akin to putting 5lbs of C4 in there, and detonating it at some point down the road at random.

NO. In short, that kit uses outward forces on the side gears to create enough friction to cause the differential action to bind, thus no diff action supposedly results in a "limited slip" scenario. Unfortunately the aluminum diff housing cannot withstand all the binding 'n grinding. End result is a torn up transaxle.

I didn't mean to sound like an ass (I know, I sound like an ass a lot) - it's just the sad truth. There aren't really a whole lot of options when it comes to the SHO - you can get a Quaife or a Wavetrac torque-biased diff, or you can get the diff welded (which means it's still an open diff, but it won't grenade so easily), but beyond that your options are pretty much zilch. The phantom grip works in other diffs (that are stronger to begin with) but in this one it really does just blow it up. There are far too many real-world examples.

It's still a pretty cool car though, eh? It's why I still have one, even though I myself just bought a Mustang (also with an LSD).
