I have a 2011 with pp and the lms 160° thermostat 3 bar and plugs with their 4 plus x tune as far as I know the most aggressive one they have, what other mods can I do to this car to make it even have more go, like that will make an even more noticeable difference

Meth kit seems to be the most obvious power adder, along with downpipes. Installing coilovers would help a great deal with ground control.

Don't forget maintenance. PTU/RDU/trans fluid flush can be the hidden heroes. Stopping at just engine oil change would be a shame.

Meth and downpipes
If I were to just do the catted downpipes would I notice a difference? Also do I have to do the full exhaust with them or can I bolt them up to the stock exhaust

No significant difference in catted vs non-catted re: performance or sound. Stock exhaust works fine with them.

I am assuming you will have a tune to take advantage of the aftermarket downpipes. If you go catted, you will give up MAYBE 1-3 hp compared to the catless DPs. You can expect to gain about 20 hp over stock, and you will feel that low end torque kick in.

This will allow you to pass emissions and keep you dealer friendly :) , but the cats need to be the high flow cats though, such as on the downpipes from PPE or LME. Other brands may or may not work. If you go catless, be prepared for the possibility of smoke from the tailpipes, especially under hard acceleration. Back pressure (or rather lack thereof with catless) has been blamed for turbos going bad, though this is hardly a settled issue.

The x pipe is a personal choice, one you can decide on when/if you go with an aftermaket catback system. But from what I gather, the SHO does not sound good without the resonator. You'd need to at least change mufflers with that delete. The Corsa catback design has a built in X pipe design, and it does sound good in all the clips I have heard, so that is an exception.

excellent I currently have the 4 plus x tune from livernois I think im going to just go with their downpipes catted with stock exhaust, now when I spoke to them they told me that the tune on the car would adapt to down pipes on its own......is this true or should I ask again if the tune needs to be updated

The 4+x tune is already set for aftermarket downpipes, catted or noncatted. Just went through this. Put on catless PPE pipes and tune was fine.

Rich, does the 4x tune now require downpipes? I don't see how the tune accounts for the presence or absence of DPs otherwise automatically since there is no feedback mechanism to tell it so. But, it'd be a really cool feature! Mike, never hurts to confirm with Jaimie (Livernois Motorsports on this forum).

I wonder the same thoughts as you...emailed with Anthony & Jamie, assured me it was set up for them.

Installed pipes, re-flashed tune...no issues.

Thinking back to the creation of 4x, Dave's SHO had downpipes right?

Makes you wonder how well the stock cats flow, pretty good I'm thinking?

I'd assume the stock cats flow fine, it's all the unnecessary twists & turns in the piping killing results. The new cats PROBABLY are even higher flow to keep up with the improved pipes.

I think you are right, Dave had his DPs in place before his rocketship tune was created, then giving birth to the production release 4x.

I've been told that going with the stock ECU settings with the aftermarket downpipes will cause a Check Engine fault. I don't know personally, as I've never tried it. But since you need to run the stock tune to pass smog, you might want to be certain of that issue if you're in a state that requires an OBD-II smog test.
