Ok kids, a while ago I pulled apart my 91, installed a new clutch, quick struts all the way around, and new Cv joints and a power steering rack. Since the job it has started to vibrate around 65MPH and by 80 its shaking worse than a tweeker coming down. I am sure it is not the flywheel, clutch as there are no vibrations from standing at idle to redline while not in gear. Any help would be awesome as I have been back and forth from the shops, and it sucks as my car is rattling itself apart.

Alignment has been checked 3 times, same with rotate and balance 3 times. the vibrations is felt in the floor boards the dash and especially the steering wheel. The vibrations started immediately after the repairs , and it drove smooth as glass before the work. Si know I didn't do some thing right.

Checked the bushings? Subframe tightened down? Motor mount checked?

also make sure the intermediate shaft on the right side has been reinstalled properly - that the bearing is tight and in the right location.

crawling under it, how can I tell if the intermediate shaft is installed correctly? All of it lined up and looked good. I didnt have to force any thing to make it fit it all went together nice and smooth. Is there a proper procedure to installing it? Is there a balance marker? The hanger barring was good and tight on installation. Do cv axles usually come balanced? The bushing bolts are nice and tight, and the motor mounts are not broke but old.

OK, I found the culprit. I changed out both CV axles. took it in for an alignment. Drove it 20 miles not a shake or shimmy smooth as glass again.
thanks for the help!

The axles were A-1 CARDONE remans. I think they put in one of the bearings incorrectly or didn't balance the shaft after reman. Putting in the brand new duralast gold axles from autozone fixed the vibrations. So I am out a set of axles from rock auto.

That is why we offer steering racks that are not rebuilt by Cardone at SHO Source. We have not had a failure on the racks.

I bought a set of new axles from SHOsource and couldn't be happier. I know Im a Euro guy and may be desensitized to part prices but $200 for two new axles is pretty good in my book.
