Thanks for 20 now 21 in Minn!

This was the first convention I didn't work at since about 1999. It was nice to be able to go to the events and really enjoy them. I have enjoyed putting on the events the last decade, but it was fun to just be a participant.

thanks to everyone that came in the heat and helped make this a memorable event. Special thanks to Doug Lewis for buying lunch for all the drivers and their passengers at VIR. Tony blew and engine, and there were transmissions having problems including Kirks, but he will get that sorted out. Some cars had to pull over and cool off on the way back from the drags, but I don't think any cars broke at that event. VIR is a GREAT track, and I would like to go back when it is cooler and really get some laps, as it was, I almost had the line down when the heat got to me.

Tony at the drags was nothing short of unbelievable. Funneeeeee! Tony you are the man!

Meeting Mr. Holman of Holman/Moody was a great honor. his talk was funny, informative and historical. We toured his shop on Friday and WOW. Some great stuff in there. For the younger ones that didn't know about this company, I hope you do some reading, you were hearing some of the great history of automobile racing.

The reception at Roush/Fenway was way cool. Shop tours, everyone got a chance to try putting lug nuts on and off like a NASCAR team member, food was good, and weather was about as cool as it would be that week.

Lots of nice cars in the SHOw.

Still don't know why I didn't win the hard luck award with my shocking tale of woe when my A/C went out for about an hour on the way down. So Tony blew an engine! Big f'n deal! Well maybe next year. (so glad he didn't get hurt. The bow when he got out of the ambulance was classic Tony!).

Kirk lost a tranny, nobody was happy about that after his troubles last year. Hope Ford steps up and fixes it.

speaking of Ford, they supported us nicely with some cool swag for everyone to take home, and got us our speaker for Thursday. Thanks Ford!

Congrats to my son Ken for his first full convention, nicely done!

Next year will be third week of July in Minnesota. We can hope it will be a bit cooler way up north. Hope to see more of you make the trip, and Brainerd (sp?) should be a fun track, and I think the drags will be back again too! Some fun driving roads up there to boot.

I had two glasses of wine, the other on the first trip was for the wife. Couldn't even finish the 2nd beer, too hot.

When I start trying to sneak in a styrofoam cooler of beer into the banquet, you will know I have gone over the edge!

Think Brainerd would let me tour the track on my two wheeler? (when I was in charge, no way, but now that I am a civilian, I can ask to push the limit!)

They have had various forms of motorcyle racing there in the past. Might be okay to take the Wing out for the parade laps. Also some great touring roads around there for ridin'. The somewhat local Wings club Might even have a ride that week. I can check with my dad and get some good routes for ya if you happen to ride the bike up.
