Is there any easy way to test the coils to see if there any good out of the car. I have about 16 here and need to go thru them. Was figuring someone here might of found away to test them.

Pm gmorrel.
I remember a post awhile back where he explained the workings of a coil very completely.

You can use a multimeter to test 'em if they're out. I tested mine a few weeks ago. Gotta connect to the bottom of the coil in the boot and touch the prongs where the car's connector goes. I can't remember for the life of me what the volts should be though right now.

The question prompted me to take some measurements on my coils since they are all out of the car.
The car had a miss when I test drove it, and I was informed 2nd hand that a mechanic found a DTC indicating a miss on cyl #4.
I marked that coil when I pulled it.

I took 3 resistance measurements on each coil. The first two were with one probe where the spark plug connects and the other probe on each of the wire connector contacts. On 6 of the coils both of these 12 measurements were 5.39-5.42k ohms. On the other two (one being the one I had marked) I got an "open loop" indication from my meter.

The other measurement was with one probe on each of the contacts. All 8 of these measurements were 0.9 to 1.0 ohm.

I'm going to assume the 2 that gave me opens between the plug connection and wire connection are bad. Regardless, I was going to buy four new ones for the rear bank anyway, but now know what two I won't use on front.
