I know it's not a real good idea, but right now I have no choice. Is there any kind of sealer I can use on the oil pressure sender switch (or rear valve cover, if it's leaking too) to keep it from leaking--or at least slow it down--until I can afford (and have the time) to replace it?

I'm getting really tired of having to drive with the windows open. The fumes from oil burning off the rear cat come up between the engine & firewall, and the vent fan pulls them inside the car. The inside of my car reeks now, and it's getting on my nerves something fierce.

you may be able to use gasket silicon.
if you clean things up well enough. the oil pressure sender should only cost 75 or so to fix though. i had mine done a few months ago.

The oil pressure sender is a $6 part and only takes a box end or Crescent wrench to replace. You could spend more time and money on a patch attempt that will never stop the leak. There is too much pressure on the internal parts of the oil PRESSURE sender.

Thanks, Scott, for bringing me back to earth. I've been dealing with lots of other stuff lately, and forgot that the oil pressure sender is the cheap part on the SHO.

Anyway, is this part available at an auto parts store, or is it a special-order thing?

It's a generic oil pressure sender available at most auto parts stores.
