Can anyone give me a run down on what and what not to use teflon tape on? Would liquid teflon be better? At the moment I'm replaceig the ECT sensor and it just made me wonder. Thanks.

I would not use any tape if small pieces of it entering the system you are sealing is a concern.

Is there none on the sensor allready? When I changed my ECT there was a red sealeant on the threads right out of the box. Also when ever using T-tape never on the first two threads.

No there wasn't any sealant on the sensor I got. Just plain plastic. I wish I woulda read this before I got started cause I put tape on ALL the threads. I'll redo this when I figure out why the thing won't start.

So when I went to pull the teflon off the ECT sensor I just put on there wasn't any on the threads that were threaded in. Should I be worried that theres a little bit of teflon floatin around my cooling system?

Teflon tape will not hurt if it gets into the cooling system. Rather somewhere that has very small ports, openings or other places small pieces would plug something up.

Don't worry, the heater core and the radiator make excellent filters for straining particles out of your coolant.
