Hey everyone, just wondering if you can help me out. I have a 91 that I feel needs some suspension maintenance. The ride is very stiff and it feels loose. I already plan on ball joints swaybar bushings tie rods but I was wondering what set up you would use to get the softest ride. I put aluminum sfb in when I recently did the clutch. Im not sure if that makes a huge difference or not but the ride is very harsh right now. I figure the struts need to be replaced at the same time I do all this. What kind of struts have you used or do you recomend using in order to get the softest least stiff and sporty feel? I travel 30miles one way to work and its on a crappy highway so im trying to get a little more of a forgiving set up. Please give all advice as I am hopefully doing this soon.

Your're asking for things that are, to a large degree, in conflict with each other: a soft ride, but yet a sporty feel and tight handling. Ford and other companies pay people a lot of money to think about such things and to try and come up with the best compromise.

In any case, the ASFBs you put on are contributing to the harshness. If you want something better than stock but not as firm as the ASFBs then you can go with Gen III bushings.

From what I've read, a Moog Cargo Coil/Monroe Sensatrack combo seems to get good reviews from those SHO owners who put ride quality higher on the list than lowering and performance.

Im sorry I think you didnt understand what I am asking. I was asking for a set up that doesnt focus on a stiff handeling car but a SOFT ride that is more like a cadillac then a sports car. I was wondering if you guys could give some suggestions as to what you think feels the softest and most comfort.

When/if I do my suspension I will probably get monroe quick struts. They're fully assembled and ready to put in your car. Take your old strut assembly out & put the new one in. Not much else to that. At under $170 for each corner they're a pretty good value considering they're ready to go in out of the box.

I would probably cut a coil on the front ones...
