hey guys, i bought a 91 SHO out of a junkyard that didnt deserve to be there. for the most part, the car was all there. people got some stuff like the stereo and the exhaust but the one PITA thing they took was the right rear suspension. this car is gonna be huge for me, i have a built SHO Shope motor to go into it in the spring and this is also my "Project Turbo SHO" car. here is my deal, i plan on using this car to drag race and to autocross. i am being told to go with eibach pro-kit springs and koni struts. rather than try to find a stock right rear shock and spring for now, i think i want to just buy the whole suspension setup right now. i have found the eibach pro kit from summit for 200 bucks. thats about what i expected to pay. the koni's however, were priced at 170 a piece. is this what i should expect for the price on struts?? anyone have any recomendations that may not cost as much?? i would be willing to go with another brand or even if someone is selling used ones. ill pay that much if i have to but i would really like to find a different way. lastly, if anyone has any input on what suspension setup to use i am all ears. i would like it to be as low as possible with good handling in the twisties. this is also gonna be a daily driver so i would like a somewhat decent ride. i am not expecting to get 100% in all these catagories but i guess i am lookin for a happy medium. thanx for all the help!!!

Koni's are what you want. The rub here is that they only sell the inserts and you have to cut up the oem strut housing and put it together yourself. Check tire rack and shox.com for koni quotes. Also see if Shawn from IPT is still selling them. $170 seems a little steep but prices may have gone up recently.

I would contact SHO owner and all around good guy Nook from http://prosuspension.com to ask about good suspension choices and products (his prices are usually very competitive).

I think shox.com is part request and send email quote.
You're on the right track. The only other spring is the Intrax which many here recommend. Nook sells these also. He has used both spring sets on his SHO and would be able to give you a good opinion.
Shawn is getting away from SHO specific parts so I don't know if he has any coil overs left. I just thought maybe he is still reselling some stuff and maybe his prices are cheaper (not sure).
Send Nook an email. He usually responds in a reasonable amount of time. I think his wife usually works the phone (I've only actually called there twice) while he was banging away in the shop.

Yes. It's his own business so he should get it. Or you can run a search here on the forum. I saw him post the other day. Check out his profile and look for an email addy. I think I saw him in the open forum or the classifieds a day or two ago.

That reminds me I think he's got a fresh batch of subframe connectors he's selling on Ebay. You can get them direct from his site too. They really help firm up all that unibody flex. Look for them and the seller from Salt Lake City.

Just look under taurus sho on ebay and he'll be in there somewhere if the auction didn't end. I saw a different email in his profile. Look in the open forum sho related section 2nd or 3rd page. You'll find his post. He posts under Nook here.

The 80mm is out until I decide which way I'm going to go. I have a 77mm pro flow I bought recently too but it runs like crap. So they sit in the shed with my springs for now (waiting on the rest of my suspension stuff to slowly come together).I am going to wait for a few more mods and then get some dyno time to get useable info to properly tune the lpm. I just didn't feel like that setup was running well. My car is old enough to be way out of general programming help I think.

BTW-I've seen a few posts from people who used the Gr2's and they wore out quickly with the aftermarket springs. I think you get what you pay for here. The only ones I would recommend are the tokico's, the koni, and if bigcaney has any of the Bondurant School's special spec. Monroe's. The koni have the best reputation among those concerned with performance. They are adjustable in firmness.

Hi there! I thought I felt my ears burning! I assume it was you that called about the missing suspension on friday, but I accidentally sent the note I wrote your number on through the wash. I know, I know, always check pockets before doing laundry. Anyway, email me at [email protected] and let me know what all you are missing, and we'll get you taken care of. Or, call the shop again at 801-492-4143 and give my wife Laurel a shopping list, and I will call back with all the prices of everything. I have several complete taurus/SHO running gear setups ready to go.
