Surging idle after spark plug wire change

Hi, I just changed my spark plugs and wires and now I’m having idle issues I made sure everything was plugged in what could it be? It doesn’t feel like it is misfiring so I don’t think the plugs are in wrong order.

Just offhand I'd say that a vacuum line is having an issue. Old lines don't like being disturbed!

Did you loosen or remove/replace the intake manifold when you did the wires? Because it could also be leaking from those gaskets.

Yes I did I will order new ones

I will buy some more vacuum line can it be any or is it special line?

The intake gaskets are 99% reusable, so that is likely not the real issue. When the intake manifold is removed, in order to ensure a good seal when re-installed, the rubber connectors on the intake need to be loosened so that everything can sit flat again. There is a reasonable chance that is the issue. There is an even greater chance that some of the old vacuum lines have cracked, as Ron suggested. They are standard size vacuum lines, so you can get replacement vacuum hose from the auto parts store.

Ok so don’t buy intake gaskets and just new vacuum line?and check intake for rubber boots?

I would reuse the intake gaskets and maybe spray a little tacky gasket sealer spray on them. rubydist explained it perfectly as I experienced it early on in ownership. It looks like it is seated perfectly but it does flex a little and you have to loosen those clamps a little so you can wiggle and seat flush, then tighten those clamps again.

If you haven't fixed your idle issue yet, another possibility is a build-up at the throttle plate, sometimes it doesn't take much and what happens is the computer is searching for idle. I hope your able to find your problem.
