Yes, there is a little oil screen inside of the oil supply fitting that is supposed to cleaned each time you change oil.
After about 36,000 miles I had the input shaft seal fail taking the bearing with it when the dried up chunks were imbeded in the bearing cage. Other then the PIA is was to take it out of my car the seal and bearing seal were easy to swap. Mine didn't have that oil screen in it.
