I was reading here because I have alot of unusual movement in the front end of my car when acceleration from a stop, and I knew that the Tauruses had recalls on the subframe mounts, so I was thinking about calling Ford's and maybe having mine replaced broken or not, because they are recalled. Do you guys know if the warrenty is still good? Has anyone taken their SHO in for this recently? Thanks.

it's not a warranty, it's a recall, and if your car was originally sold in a rust belt state, and it hasn't been done, then yet you should still be able to get it.

just call Ford with your VIN.

You can also check by looking under your front floormats for a rubber plug.

Where the holes would have been drilled in the floorboard to access the rear plate nuts and replace them with the recall nuts. On the driver's side it will be right between the seam of the plasticish underlayment, just below the left end of the brake pedal.

^^^ That.

Oh yeah, you should do a search on motor mounts and see if that's you're problem, that's fairly common. :thumb:

Even if the car doesn't qualify for "recall", you should still have your sub-frame bushings and motor mounts freshened up. Keep in mind, the average SHO is 10 years old allready, and those are parts that breakdown under the heavy loads most 'SHOwners' put on them.
