strut rod bushing factory color

What was the color of the front strut rod bushings? I have mine torn down ( 1994) and they look good but are red??? Maybe aftermarket??

yes they are aftermarket. stock bushings are black on every sho i have ever seen.

Mine were red too, im about 92.689% sure those are stock, Mine have been replaced with the blue TPR

EDIT: do you mean all of them are red? or just one? If they are all red they are after market, got any pics of them?

wow if the stock bushings are red that means all the shos i have ever looked at have aftermarket bushings. thats crazy.... and im about to replace my bushings. wierd.

On the front strut tension rod, for the front bushings mounted in the subframe, the aft bushing is red with an inset washer; the front bushing is black rubber. All other Taurus and Sables have black rubber bushings fore and aft. I've never seen a "police" Taurus, so I'm not sure if the Police versus used the red aft bushing, or yet a third "police" bushing like the strut mounts.

Mine were all black, I assumed they were not the stock ones just because I read the stock ones were poly on the SHO, these were definitely rubber.
