im pretty sure i know what this is but just wanted to double check make sure its nothing else before i go buying anything i dont need yet.

im gonna wind up getting new springs on the car and i think i need strut mounts because the car has a thumping noise over bumps and when i go into turns it seems like there is also, or for that matter im pretty sure when i hit the gas pretty hard it does also.
the test i did myself to try and figure out what it is was i pulled up on the passenger side fender and i heard a thump noise once i got it up high and on the way back down. same with the drivers side just not as much.

so you think i need new strut mounts or can it be somethign else... i checked the subframe bolts and they are freakin tight.

thanks... also any good options for after market ones?

I strongly suggest advise that mounts and bearings be replaced whenever you replace the springs and struts. It is cheap insurance against rediculous labor costs for suspension jobs. You dont want to reinstall old hardware, only to have it fail soon after.

However, your description sounds more like loose tension strut rod cups.

i posted this in the wrong section.. haha guess that happens when your tired...
yeah the olny problem will be getting that freakin nut off the end to check it out... the reason i believe it was the mounts is because they are OEM mounts and the subframe and all didnt have this problem before the swap but since i swapped it i figured it was the strut mounts since i had them off and all.

well either way ill give it a check and ill also get new mounts and springs here soon.i mean the rear is saggy and the front seems to be rough. not to mention the one mount olny has 2 bolts haha.

i know the car needs a alignment since i had the subframe swapped and i put alsfb on there the wheel is half cocked to the drivers side to keep it straight and it feels a bit sloppy. but i expected that with changing the sf.

thanks for the info notsoslowsho ill have to check it out for sure.

ill keep this thread posted once i figure it out.
