so i went ahead and installed new struts springs and strut mounts but happened to notice that the strut mount studs are significantly shorter then the originals. this normally wouldnt be an issue but i have a strut tower brace on the car and will not be able to utilize it with these strut mounts. i noticed also there is a strut mount spacer that goes underneath the body of the car would i be able to run the struts with out that? that would give me enough clearence to run the brace. any one else have this issue?

Some aftermarket strut mounts have short bolts on them; the moogs are long as I just put a set on with my STB's

Spacer like a washer or spacer like the round white strut mount bearing for the fronts?

shobote: i got the moogs and the studs are short. i got them from rockauto but it looks like they came from two different manufacturers.

luigisho: its a spacer that looks identical to the strut mount plate itself minus the rubber part not the bearing itself.

Some mounts would have rubbing issues with out the spacer some don't. Measure the distance from the top of the spacer to the spring seat on the old mount and then do the same with the new mount and compare results.

Wow, I took the front STB off my car, and those plates were under it, on top of the strut tower.

I also did not put the spacer on with my moogs and no problem; maybe that is why the STB fits on mine ?
