Just a quick question :D

Would there be any benefit to pack new bearings with a synthetic grease like SHONUT does with the TOBs?

Thanks thumb

You could try it and let us know how it worked in 100,000 miles or so - the probable lifetime of the normal greased bearing.

I have re-greased the bearings on my car during any strut removal that alloweed me access to the bearings. There is usually a bit of grit in the area and washing out the old grease and adding fresh, new grease seemed like a good idea. Probably even better with synthetic grease. Why don't you find out?

If you can find ProLab use it. We used it exclusively on our race car. Most impressive !

Well, I found some synthetic wheel bearing grease. Red, sticky stuff. IIRC, it was a 707 grease.

I only replaced the grease in one of the strut bearings, as an experiment... ill see which last longer :p

It did seem to spin better, even after assembling the springs and struts. Not quite as easy to spin, but it felt much smoother than the other one. LOL, you should have seen me standing on the unmounted bearing, spinning like a top lol

both are MOOG bearings. white nylon ones with steel races inside them for the ball bearings.
