I just bought a 94 mtx sho, and i notice a strange noise whenever i drive the car over around 60 miles per hour. It sounds kind of like someone is pouring bb's all over my windshield, not very loud, but a strange sort of tinkling sound ive never heard come out of a car. Any ideas on what this is would be great. Also, the car starts shaking around 75 or 80, so im assuming i need a wheel alignment, i dont know if that has anything to do with it.

I dont know about the sound, but as for the shaking, get the tires balanced, that should take care of the shaking. Also get the alignment done in case the wheels being out of balance was caused by bad alignment (causing unusual tire wear). Good Luck!

It could be your speedo cable, mine makes a slight "ticking" noise at high speed. Just a thought.

Could the engine be pinging some? I haven't had it happen in my sho, so I don't know quite how it would sound. And my speedo makes noise too, I need to **** it and work on the cable for it some more! wink
