My shorting bar connecter under the car was pretty much worn. It was corroded real bad so I cut it off and soldered/heat shrinked one from the junk yard in. I did one wire at a time so everything is matched up to origional. The problem I had before and still have, is with the shorting connector in and fuse #10 inserted, when the car is off my high beam indicator stays on. When the car is running the high beam indicator is on and my headlights are on when the switch and the auto headlight switch are off. The indicator gets bright when I pull back for the flash to pass. It stays the same brightness when in dim or bright mode, and brights are only on when the stick is forward for brights.

I have tried a different multifunction switch, and have also opened this one up, cleaned/inspected it.

Maybe it origionally had a daytime lamp module? The indicator doesn't have the normal green light for the daytime lamps tho.

I'm stumped!

Does your heat gauge read low all the time?
I have seen your issue in a 93 regular Taurus, with no auto headlight feature, but it has the wacky heat gauge also. Unfortunately, it has never been solved.

I'll have to keep track of the heat gauge and see what it does. Maybe somewhere somehow one affects the other. Grounding problem, etc...
