Took the MKT to the track a little over a week ago. Temps were fair, but not ideal. BP, wind direction and humidity were all over the place. I'm pleased with the car's times considering it's stupid heavy for what it is-the little 214 inch EcoBoost continues to amaze me no matter how much i drive it. Anyway, here's the breakdown of the times and the weather conditions per run:

The first pass:
2.245

14.5?
Jeeebus, that thing's heavy. But that and 20MPG is pretty decent.

Yeah, it's heavy. Weighs just barely under 5000lbs without me in it.
It'll get 22-25 on the highway cruising if I behave myself. So far the worst I've seen is 16.4, and that was after a bunch of idling around taking kids to school, and the 6 dragstrip passes listed above. The more I drive it, the more I like it.

Key: Your best was your best 60'
Um..Yeah.
I'm not new to drag racing by any means.
The car has more in it, I just need more seat time to find the sweet spot for launch RPM where there's no wheelspin causing the PCM to shut down the power to protect the PTU, but enough to get the car to leave well.

These vehicles still impress the **** out of me. I took my VW touareg TDI to the drag strip and the best I could do was a 14.9 @89mph and that has a twin turbo V10 diesel! It is around 5500lbs though too. The tune for my truck only gains 60hp or so and I can't justify it for the money, but a tune for you yields way more power and my SUV would never be able to catch you in the 1/4. It might be able to drag it around the parking lot kicking and screaming but I would hardly say that is a practical application for a vehicle haha.
