So i know that this has been covered again and again but i found some dead links when i searched the forum. Maybe the threads were too old, i dont know. But anyways i need to put a new steering wheel in my 93' so i am asking what exact years will fit the steering column shaft? I had a steering wheel out of a ranger, it looked identical to my wheel, but didnt fit. The center was different. So before i get another wheel and find it dosnt fit i need to know what cars/trucks fit what years ect. Or if someone is better with the search function than i am, im open to suggestions.

Thanks
Mike

im not worried about the air bag or cruise i have a very nice air bag and cruise buttons

Check out a slavage yard. I was thinking about trying to put a different wheel on my car but found one almost brand new looking and the same model year for $10.

this is from a 95 t bird. you can use your taurus airbag instead of the ugly t bird one. notice the small parts next to the airbag that arent on a taurus wheel. this is the part that i like.

The truck wheels are splined, the car wheels are not... I know Rangers and Explorers are splined...

Yes that was the problem the sho has a kinda square and the ranger one was round and splined. Im needing to know if someone has some kind of interchange for what cars are the same ''spline" if you would.

It seems that most cars with the same wheel bolt pattern as the SHO have the same steering wheel pattern as the SHO. Coincidence?

You could always cover it with a WheelSkinz. Wasn't Don offering some kind of discount through shotimes? Could be a long time ago though I guess.

The Mustang wheels will fit the Taurus steering shaft but, while the wheels look similar and the airbags are interchangeable, the rest of the hardware (buttons, back shell, etc.) - oddly enough - are not.

If you swap in a Mustang wheel you need the whole thing - buttons and all.

thats too bad about the ranger wheel because they have lighted cruise switches which i thought would be cool to use on the sho. and although the cruise switches look simlar to the sho switches, the ranger/explorer switches will not bolt to a sho steering wheel either. i wonder if they will fit on the mustang wheel?

I bought Mark VIII cruise control buttons and a clockspring to do exactly this. Someone else is running this setup on their 93.
