You can get the hose from Doug @ FPS. And, I think the Gen I SHO rack is different from the SLO rack.

(FYI - Year for year the Taurus SLO is a Gen ahead of the SHO - An '89 Taurus is a Gen II Taurus; An '89 SHO is a Gen I SHO.)

yeah since im in college money is tight. So what i did was go 70 on a country road and **** the engine and roll to a stop. jacked the car up and unplugged that *** VAPS and fixed it right up. Im very happy with it. Its a little tight parking but well worth the non twitchy FORD Bull. I hate Fords *** stuff. But i would highly reccomend this to anyone with the problem. Now you can take the curves with no worries!!!

That is basically what installing the bypass swith technique does. You can either turn it off completely or lock it in a certain assist mode.
