Love my 2014 SHO (Non PP), the car handles very well But one thing is driving me crazy. When I am driving and am making very small throttle adjustments to simply maintain my speed, I feel a "nudge" from the steering wheel (to the right when I speed up, to the left when I let off the throttle). It is just like the sensation of when the lane assist kicks in, but I turned that off to make sure that is not the culprit. The "nudges" from the steering wheel don't feel like torque steering because I am barely touching the throttle, but it seems related. I feel no (or very little) torque steer under heavy throttle. I'm running factory Michellin tires (20" rims). Steering feels tight at all other times. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Tim

Could be needing alignment, but if the nudge is small, could be perfectly normal for a FWD-biased car.

Thanks. I'll have the alignment checked when I have to get the ugly front plate bracket installed. Just don't have the courage to drill into the front bumper on my own!

Yeah, too bad you have to spoil that pristine front view with a license plate/bracket.

Never heard of tramlining. Googled it and that might be the cause. Thanks for the reply.

Update - just got the car back from the dealer service department. Front end components were loose; they said it likely came that way from the factory (14k on the odometer). Not sure if I believe that but it fixed the problem. Thanks for your helpful suggestions.

I had a Focus SE as a loaner. Sure makes you appreciate the Taurus!
