I smashed my 2011 SHO into a curb today and bent my steering rack. I am a mechanic and I can do any work myself. Is there any way to rebuild the steering rack better? I'm looking for the most performance oriented solution there is because this is a long-term project car even though I daily it right now.

Okay so am I really the only person who's ever had a bent steering rack? Does anybody know if I can put the 2013+ steering rack in my car? The one that has the quicker steering ratio?

Its not common to bend a rack, are you sure its not a bent inner/outer tie rod? Those are replaceable.

I think you have an EPAS system, so the module in the car will have to match what you take out or be the proper supeceeded module. I don't think your going to find a performance rack and pinion? But I have never looked.

The EPAS does a lot more then just steer the car relating to the abs system.
