Steering rack Need Info

ALright when changing a steering rack what is all included with the process of chanigng it and what else can u fix while doing it... what r the part number for the moog tie ends and how hard is this process....ne help would be great

Here is the Forum link to my experience with the rack replacement. This is not a job I want to do again anytime soon. You can check for the tie rod ends with the on-line vendors: RockAuto.com, AutoZone.com, CarParts.com, Wrenchhead.com, etc.

thanx scott ill check into that link.. I saw that you said it was a tired and rough job- about 5 hours.. what is the hardest thing about doing it.. what do i need to take off and so forth

The rack comes out through the driver side wheel well. You have to put the car on jackstands so that you can crawl underneath to work the rack out. You must remove the intermediate steering shaft, power steering fluid lines, disconnect the tie rod end bolts and the rack's frame bolts. Access to the fluid lines on the rack was a tedious reach. You just have to carefully move the rack a small distance at a time because of all the interferences with the hoses and structures. You would be much better off looking at a procedure in a service manual before digging into this job.
