I wish I knew this, since my 93's starter is getting noisey on startup. But I thought you had 2 92's, when did you get a 93?
and Heathers 92 doesn't count

I think SHOTIME is a 93, it probably just got goofed in his sig, that's all. You wanna talk about funny noises from a starter man, I oughta send you an audio clip of mine. Sounds like a squirrel on crack. As soon as I get home (Monday night yay!) I'm going to get working on that issue.

They should be all the same starters, the only differences being between ATX and MTX probably. I mean they never changed the block from 89-95, and they didn't change the transmission, and the flywheel stayed the same, so any starter for an MTX SHO should work.

The difference is where the starter relay is mounted, AFAICT. That and the fact that the Gen I starters are readily available from the aftermarket, whereas the GenIIs are not.

I ended up getting mine rebuilt for $80.. that was less than half of the cheapest "rebuilt" starter I could find in town.
