background: my 92 is my first standard transmission ever and have only about 3 weeks of driving it behind me.

now with that said I stalled out at a light pretty bad the other day and the car bucked pretty bad, after that the car would not start and I was sitting in the middle of the intersection trying to start the car but it would just simply not turn on, then finally after what felt like an hour, it started, but this is what was weird to me, when the car started all the settings on my headunit reset back to normal like i just disconnected and reconnected the battery or something. it was very odd to me and I could not understand why it did that.

anyone got any ideas? and yes, clutch was down while i was trying to start it lol.

The bucking may have momentarily ****** a battery cable loose. I'd disconnect the cables, clean the terminals, reconnect, and make sure they're good and tight.

Did you notice any loss of (electrical) power when you first tried to start it back up?

Also, if you stall it again, sometimes it helps to hold the gas pedal to the floor when you start cranking it over. This will cut off the fuel injectors and allow the cylinders to flush themselves out if they got flooded. As soon as you lift from WOT (wide open throttle), the injectors will start firing again, and it should start right up. Maybe. ;)

I think I have to clean the battery terms because I just went outside to start it and I started it and it ran fine then I shut it off to go grab another cd from out of my other car and then when I went to start it, it did the same thing again! wouldn't even try to start. felt like the battery was dead. but I just waited like a minute then it started up, but then it started acting weird for a second, I may just have to clean the battery terms, and I will have to go to autozone to get my alternator checked just to make sure its working properly.
