squeak---squeak--squeak--squeak--squeak-
squeak-squeak-squeaksqueaksqueaksqueaksqueak-squeak-squeak-squeak--squeak--squeak---squeak

That's what I'm hearing from the front left (i think) tire of my '92 SLO. Haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet... speeds up with the car, not audible beyond say, 50 mph.

Thoughts?

amy recent front end work that would warrant a brake dust shield rubbing on the rotor ? or it may be a pad resting on the rotor. if the pad is not chamfered the lead edge 90 degree will oscillate, creating harmonics, in turn making it squeal. to chamfer the pads, use a coarse file on the lead edge of the pads. chamfer it to about 1'16" from the backing plate. other ideas are rubbing/bad strut mount. or coil spring insulation rubbing on strut tower. or rubber insulation on strut bearing rubbing. if the vehicle hasnt had any bushing replaced, it could be a number of those due to age and wear.

it may be. the only way to know for sure is tear it apart. look for shiny metal, thatll be your squeak. if youre going to replace one, go ahead and replace the other. is it a mount or bearing ?

I dunno, but I'm going to find out as soon as I get my SHO back together...

What are the symtoms of a bad strut mount, and a bad strut bearing?

well that's it then, lol

this is a constant sqeaking, doesn't matter if i'm braking or not, or in Drive or not, and speeds up with the vehicle's speed, not the engine speed.
