This summer I plan on holding and/or hosting at least one meet, and preferably making a few events as well, such as a group outing to GLD, a Milwaukee-region SCCA event, or maybe a Road America/Blackhawk Farms event. Also, I'd like to start a monthly SHO tech meeting, demonstrating simple and not so simple tasks, as well as a place to just learn about the suspension/braking/engine/etc. I'd really like to see the club grow a little and become better, but I'm going to need you, the members, to help me out. I'd really like to see the club turn into something similiar to teh WI SVT Owner's Assoc. WISVTOA holds monthly tech sessions, track events, and several other things throughout the year, including winter.

First off, I need some ideas. I've already gone over a few, but I'm sure we can brainstorm and come up with more. I've stickied this thread, and any ideas about events/meetings/whatever can go in here. Eventually I will get to making a calendar when it gets a little closer to spring, and when more events are on tap. I'm also hoping to get a new wishoc.com up and running this summer, including a new message board.

EDIT: I'm actively looking for the contact info for those of you who want to be involved with any activities this season. Just send me your name and an email address (phone if you want) via PM and I will compile a list for myself and other members to use for contact info. I've also created a new email address for the club ( wishoclubATyahooDOTcom ).

I've got info for Kris, Shawn, Mike, Dave, Adam, and Michelle.
This will become the official email list, so if you're not on here, I still need your info. Again, you can PM me the info, or email it to the address above.

Thd outing to GLD sounds good, as well as an SCCA meeting. I like the ideas on demonstrating how to do things to the SHO. I would go to probably all the events-as soon as I get my car running... A meeting at a dyno shop would be nice.

Dyno runs are a good idea, but pricey. Most likely, we'd have to get together with some other car group and tag along to make it feasible, unless people are willing to spend some bucks on it.

I got another suggestion for import wars via PM, which would be fine as well.

Realistically, I'd like to get a bunch of ideas, hammer out a date, then make up a calendar for the spring/summer/early fall with all the events marked on it. Then, anyone who was interested could look at it, take that day off work if need be, and make time for the event. In years past, myself or a few others would set up a meet or event, have a lot of interest expressed, and then one or two people would show up. Kinda gets frustrating :bonk:

I am new to the SHO world and live in Harftford WI. Got a used 91MTX for free. Needed some work but now its my daily driver, 189k, its just a blast to drive. I also have been riding BMW motorcycles for 16 years. Have been to Blackhawk and RA of course. I like the RA 500 weekend, I think its the weekend of Aug 18-20th 2006. The traveling Lemans series. I was told by a friend of mine that Roger Penske will enter 2 Porsches at RA that weekend. Lots of exotic cars, could start a SHO corral there.....

Possibly. I really should compile a list of everyone who wants to be included in any events; that way I can have an email list of everybody. So, on that thought, if you want to be included on the email list, shoot me a PM with your name and relevant contact info. Basically, I just need your name and an email; location would be nice too just so I can get an idea where you are geographically.

I think tech sessions are a great idea! possibly doing some more basic and popular mods/maintence. i'll be gathering the rest for my 96' brake upgrade here this winter, that might be a good idea for a tech session. did everybody join the frappr on the top??? At this time I am looking at just doing a few meet-n-greet type of 'mixers' for people to get to know each other. I'd also be willing to do a few tech sessions before it gets nice outside; I've got a very nice garage heater, so the cold isn't a problem.
