I'll bet it's 10mm, to be used with a 10mm socket to torque cylinder head bolts.

Ok, were not all that worried about it now. It looks like a allen key for removing heads...musta fell in while previous work was being done.

Not really. If you don't plug the oil drainback holes its easy to drop something down one of them. And when you do, you ain't getting it back unless you drop the oil pan. Otherwise it will just sleep peacefully in a bath of oil until you do. I've heard of all kinds of things being dropped down those holes... sockets, valve tools, etc.

I found a machine bolt in my pan during a rod bearing change......


came off the oil pump. :oogle:
