So I'm currently sitting in my car on my lunch break and my engine sounds exactly like the 7.3 diesel in my last work truck. Could it just be noisy injectors? The ticking is loudest from the glove box. It is currently -5 here so that might have something to do with it...

Anyone else notice this in their cars?

How long have you had the issue? Has it gotten worse over time? Although I barely heard the noise with the radio and heater off, it did not sound good at all. I'd hate to see it get worse and cause issues down the road...

It's probably one of the tensioners. One of mine was making noise and found a junk one to replace it and it got noticably quieter.. not sure what makes all the noise though, unless the chains, after a while, just dig into the top of it and cause some type of friction that makes the noise.
