I've searched for some answers but didnt get anything clear-cut.

First, With the Tweecer R/T is it manditory to use a wideband O2 sensor to data log? What features am I missing out on not using a wideband right away? Does anybody have a good baseline file to use that would be in the ballpark of the tuning I'd need for my current SHO.

I think my car needs tuning bad. I dont think the LPM is tuned for my MAF. The car is a dog in the top end. It wont accerlerate past 130 in in 4th or 5th. Very embarrasing when getting passed by a stock BMW 325 on the freeway. :madflame: Maybe I was just spoiled with my last SHO's power, but even my more ragged out and less modded car 1st SHO ran noticably harder ( it would pull pretty well past 140mph).

I'll probably be getting a tweecer R/T soon, so I'll be frequenting this board for info.

No, you do not need a wide band, but I'd recommend one. You can still tune without the wideband, but can fine tune with it. There is no doubt that your MAF/LPM combo is killing you.

You can definitely benefit with a TwEECer, there is no doubt there.

Not wise to do those speeds on the freeway!

Your need for a wideband setup will largely depend on how far you want to take your tuning (IOW, how ******** you want to get?). Some people are pefectly content tuning their car via the factory O2's and getting things "pretty close". Using this method will only get you so far, however, since the effective sensing range of the factory HEGO's is, at best, about 13:1 - 17:1, or IOW, only good for idle and part-throtttle tuning. For "proper" WOT tuning, you'll need to get your hands on a good wideband kit.

EDIT: Whoops, looks like Jason beat me to it. :p

I think we need a Tweecer Sticky.

When using a WBO2 with the Tweecer, you do still need the wideband controller, correct? Also, I just saw on the Tweecer forum, a clamp to hold a wideband just at the end of the tail pipe. How much of a difference would this make for tuning. Other than the fact of being able to leave it there, etc. Where exactly does the WBO2 need to be installed? Are two neccessary, or is one adequate?

Yes, you still need the controller. The controller is where you tap off for a signal with a Data Q and then plug it into your serial port on your computer.

They have those portable kind you can clip on the end of your tail pipe, but if you want a true wide band, you'll want an actual 0-5 O2 before your cats. You can find out more at www.plxdevices.com

Cool. I'll just work with the stock o2's for now and go the WBO2 route when I do the 60K (maybe some freshend cams, ;) )and rod bearing service at 120k miles. But for the next 12k or so miles I'd like to have the car tuned a little better than the way it is now. The thing is gutless up top, but has good off idle and midrange response.

Anybody have some tweecer files that I could use?

I would have to agree with that statement. :)

Anything more than a single wideband sensor is overkill for most people. Even then, there really shouldn't be a need for additional sensors since the factory HEGO's are pretty good at reporting bank-to-bank fueling imbalances within their sensing range.

As for the tail pipe widebands, I have to side with Jason and recommend that you don't waste your time with one. You'll get much better results out of a good, well-placed 5v wideband sensor in your Y-pipe than you would with a tail pipe sniffer sitting at the end of your muffler. This point can ring especially true if the said tail pipe sensor is being ran on a car with cats.

I can furnish you with both MTX and ATX files, while Jason should be able to supply you with some good "real-world" MTX files. ;)

Adam, I don't know what pics would look the best. You can get some off the site I have desktops, or any one of my cardomain sites.

I can sure send you some files that I have been using on my car. Just shoot me an e-mail and I'll send them your way. You can view them with the TwEECer software for free, or you can get the EEC Analyzer and look at what some of what I am actually affecting when I make some of the changes I make.
