Thought I would try my hand at selling my truck here on the forum.
It has the following options: Eddie Bauer package, 2wd, short bed, 300 CI 4.9 inline 6, 5 speed manual, tinted windows, AC, power windows, power locks, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, bed liner, dual tanks, both work via the switch on the dash. Drives out and rides very nice. When front shocks were replaced, the Ford mechanic commented on how tight the front end suspension was, the steering is tight for an F150 of this vintage. AC blows cold enough to freeze you out and the heat drives you out. With 184k miles, truck does not drive like it has that much on it. Got 23 MPG driving it back from SC.
Maintenance done by previous owner:
AC system was replaced by the previous owner about a year ago with all new Ford parts, he also replaced the rear shocks, rear fuel tank and pump, hydraulic cylinder for the manual trans, clutch, upper and lower ball joints, brakes, alternator, serpentine belt, and oil pan gasket. From the looks of the radiator, looks like that was replaced, too.
Maintenance done by me:
I have replaced the front shocks, had the cooling system flushed, new thermostat, radiator cap, new headlights, and an oil change about 1k-1500 miles ago.
The Bad:
The passenger side door lock does not unlock with the key, but does with the power lock switch. The truck does not have a matching tailgate, was this way when I purchased it, but works just fine. Has some rust starting at the bottom of the doors, early enough that it can be fixed, not rotted through yet. Needs tires, fronts look a little worn, rears look fine.
Overall, this is a very solid truck. It spent the first half of its life up in Michigan, second half in South Carolina, where I purchased it. I have found the frame of the truck to be undercoated/rustproofed. The typical places of rust in this style of truck, they are not there, the front fender corners are not rotted or even showing any rust, the rear fender lips are clean, aside from one very small spot showing on driver side of bed. Rear cab corners are solid also, no visible rust or bubbling. This truck is not perfect, has its scratches and dings, but is still extremely clean for a 96.
Asking price is $3000 cash. No trades.
Thanks for looking!
